Requirements

How to Embed a Video in Gutenberg

All video platforms follow the same three-step process.

Open the video platform

Go to the platform where your video is hosted: YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, or any other supported source.

Copy the share link

Find the share or copy-link option on the video. Copy the URL to your clipboard.

Each platform guide below shows exactly where to find the share link.

Step 2: Add the Custom iFrame Block

Open your page in the block editor

Go to the page or post where you want the video. Click Edit to open the Gutenberg block editor.

Add the Custom iFrame block

Click the Add Block button. Search for Custom iFrame. Click the block to add it to the page.

Step 3: Paste the URL and Publish

Paste the video URL

In the right panel, paste the URL into the Source URL field. The video player appears inside the block.

Set height and publish

Set Height to 450px for a standard 16:9 video, or enable Auto Height. Click Update or Publish.

Click Update or Publish. Your video is now live on your WordPress site.
